Last year, the Johnson family gave a gift that will last far longer than anything wrapped under the tree — memories captured together. Instead of another material item, members of the family purchased a family session gift card for Nana as her Christmas present. It was such a thoughtful idea and such a meaningful way to celebrate the people who matter most.

When we met up this spring at Altherr Nature Park, it truly could not have been a more beautiful day. The weather was absolutely perfect, with warm sunshine, a soft breeze, and that dreamy golden glow that photographers always hope for. The park itself made the perfect backdrop with its natural beauty beginning to come alive for the season. Everywhere we turned, there was gorgeous light filtering through the trees and little hints of spring all around us.

As we spent time together during their session, the Johnson family shared that it had been ages since they had all taken updated photos together. Like so many families, life gets busy, schedules fill up, and years can pass before everyone realizes how long it has been since they documented this season of life.
