Lyndsey & Jacob had a timeless winter wedding at Gathering Acres Event Center in Lafayette, Indiana. Given the winter storm that happened the day before, the weather cooperated beautifully enough for us to even get some photos outside. After getting ready in their private on-site bridal suits with jean jackets and cowboy boots, Lyndsey & Jacob saw each other for the first time as she approached him down the aisle. As the sun began to set, they continued to celebrated their marriage by partying indoors, eating good food, cutting their cake, and dancing the night away as husband and wife.
Distance makes the heart grow fonder
After Lyndsey & Jacob’s first date at Dairy Queen in Delphi Jacob had to leave for school in Texas just two months later. Lyndsey told us that when he graduated and came back home they “hit it off and the rest is history.” Jacob now has a job out in the middle of the ocean and is often gone for weeks at a time, but nothing keeps these two from being madly in love.
A proposal was not what Lyndsey was expecting when she was swimming in a pool this past summer. With all of their friends and family surrounding them, Jacob asked Lyndsey to come to the edge of the pool where he knelt down and showed her a ring. Right then and there she splashed him in the face and thought he was kidding. Little did she know that he was serious and this was the start of the next chapter in their lives. Timeless with some country flare
When asked to describe their wedding, Lyndsey & Jacob said lots of sage green and taupe which gives it a timeless aesthetic, but also lots of undertones of a rustic vibe. We were obsessed with their use of greenery throughout their wedding venue at Gather Acres in Lafayette, Indiana, but we also loved how they added their own personal flare with cowboy boots and denim jackets.
While big pronouncements and declarations of love were neither Lyndsey & Jacob’s thing they still wanted to ensure their wedding felt like them. They celebrated their love by having others provide words of wisdom and encouragement during their ceremony, letting their best friends and family speak at the reception, and privately saying hello to everyone in attendance while others danced on the dance floor.
Sporting their cowboy boots and jean jackets throughout the night, these two made sure that they were comfortable in their timeless wedding attire that brought country flare to the event.
