Ashley & John met us at Happy Hollow Park in Lafayette for their engagement session. The location was new to us, so we took our time finding all of the best spots and getting to know each other along the way. I loved spending time with these two, their fun pack of dogs, and their family who was there to help.

They added personality to their engagement session

Ashley and John’s engagement session was one filled with laughter, love, and just the right amount of chaos—thanks to their three adorable dogs! We started their session at Happy Hollow Park in Lafayette, where the beginnings of the fall colors made the perfect backdrop for some cozy, lighthearted photos with their pups. Their dogs were full of personality, and it was such a fun way to kick off the evening. After a few sweet family moments, Ashley’s family took the dogs home so we could continue exploring the park with just the two of them.

We absolutely love when couples add little pieces of their personality into their engagement session, and Ashley and John did this perfectly. Including their dogs and choosing locations that were meaningful to them made the entire experience feel so authentic and uniquely theirs. Engagement sessions like these are always at their best when they tell your story—when the photos don’t just look beautiful, but feel like you.

Once we wrapped up at Happy Hollow, we made our way over to Purdue University’s campus, a spot that holds extra special meaning for these two. John proposed to Ashley right near the iconic Purdue fountain with the help of their two best friends. The story still makes us smile! The group had been out playing Pokémon Go together, so Ashley was completely distracted by the game when she suddenly turned around to find John down on one knee.

An engagement video

At LVP Studios we offer photography, videography, and package bundles to all of our couples who are getting married. We often book weddings for simply just videography, and when we do we still like to take the time to do an engagement session if possible. This is a great time for us to get to know our couples a bit more. It also allows each of our couples the chance to get comfortable in front of the camera.

There upcoming wedding at The Legacy Barn in Kokomo, Indiana, is going to be such a perfect celebration of the love these two share. They’re planning an country winter wedding with colors like navy blue and copper.
