The First Look is an amazing part of the wedding day! It is when you and your soon-to-be spouse will get to see each other for the first time and you will get to have that moment captured in your portraits and video. It’s typically a private moment, away from guests and family, where you both can see each other for the first time. It’s different than the walk down the aisle, it’s a chance to see your lover, your best friend, your everything before the ceremony even begins.

What is a First Look?

Chelsea and Christian became husband and wife at Taylor Chapel UMC in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was a very intimate affair as they broke bread and shared wine with all of their guests. Row by row their families and beloved friends came to the front of the church to accept communion from Chelsea and Christian. They had family members sing and read scriptures before they said their vows and left the sanctuary officially as Mr. and Mrs. Young.

Introducing the gorgeous, spunky, beautiful, and creative Faith Pratt. Faith reached out to me on Instagram about doing her Senior Portraits which is something I’ve only dabbled in, but I am so happy with the way that these turned out. We spent one wintry afternoon shooting at places around downtown Winamac and ended up down at the Winamac Town Park to finish it off.

Lifestyle Session

Hey, it’s Danyell! This past weekend (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) I attended the In Focus Marketing Summit hosted by Jasmine Norris and Victoria Rayburn. The In Focus Marketing Summit is a photography workshop that focuses on marketing strategies to grow your business. Myself and six other photographers studied subjects like identifying and targeting our dream customers, developing and communicating our brand, creating content marketing strategies for blogs and social media, building client focused websites that inspire website visitors to take action, optimizing our websites for search engines, and more.

What I Learned at the 2020 In Focus Marketing Summit: A Marketing Workshop for Photographers

For Professionals, Personal

While I know that wedding photos are a must, there are certain things that photos just can’t capture the same way that videos can. The posed shots, beautiful still moments, and glimpses of emotion are perfectly captured by a good photographer. But your vows, the first dance, laughter and crying, the speeches given by the most important people to you; all of these things (and so much more) can’t be captured with photos.

Baby showers are a family’s first opportunity to gather together as a part in this new child’s life. For Baleigh and Levi this meant coming together with both of their families, connecting, and showing their love. It was such an honor to be invited to document this joyous time before Baby B makes his appearance […]

Hey, Danyell here, and today I want to talk about how memory keeping can become a business. There are multiple ways: you can start an online store, share your endeavors on YouTube, write a blog, or even start a business that helps others memory keep too (and so much more). But that’s where my focus is–helping others memory keep. I love helping others achieve their memory keeping goals, understand that this doesn’t have to be something hard, and that their stories are meant to be captured, documented, and saved.

How can Memory Keeping become a business?

My Why

Dear baby Colin, Boy, you are so loved! Loved by your mommy, daddy, and big brother. But also, loved by so many others that you do not even know. Photographing you within your home was like a dream come true. Not for a second did you want to close your eyes—but rather, you insisted to […]

Dear Clough Family, You were the first family to let me try taking pictures, and for that I will always appreciate you. As my business continues to grow, so does your family!! I had a blast photographing you all during our time in Kansas for the holidays. I seriously cannot wait to go back in […]

TOUR THE STUDIO

We are super thrilled to have this office space where we can not only continue to capture pictures of families and little ones into the cold months, but also have a place to meet with potential couples who want to book with us for their upcoming wedding. Our studio is also where we work day in and day out getting everything edited and posted for all of you!

This studio is still a work in progress (and probably always will be), but we're tired of waiting --I just have to show you around! We actually showed a sneak peak to all of our email newsletter subscribers last month, and since then things have continued to change and develop. We will constantly be bettering our studio, but for now, it has become such a great place for photos and for meeting with clients.
