It was a gorgeous classic wedding day spent with these college lovers at The Barn at Bay Horse in Greenwood, Indiana. They had an outdoor ceremony filled with elements of modern elegance and a touch of fall vibes. The day began getting ready in the onsite bridal and groom suits which led to their special first look moments outside along the tree line followed by a sentimental outdoor ceremony with the most heartfelt vows. Elise & Jacob finally finishing off the night with a spark filled grand entrance, some of the best speeches we’ve ever heard from friends and family, and the most epic limbo game to end their first evening together as husband and wife—this was Elise & Jacob’s special day.
It started with an engagement video
Elise & Jacob first met us at the Indianapolis Art Center for their engagement session in which we filmed a beautiful video. Some of our video packages include amazing engagement videos that allow our couples to tell their story. Elise & Jacob and their amazing photographer, Victoria of Victoria Hunt Photography, let us join their engagement photo session to capture some moments through video too.
During their engagement session we got to learn more about their love story and how the proposal went. When Jacob planned to prose Elise has just finished working her job at a local preschool. She had about 15 minutes to get ready before they went on a date for dinner. After dinner they walked a trail, and for whatever reason Elise got a hunch that maybe he might propose. She said, “I’m not ready for this.” And made Jacob promise that he was not going to propose.
The real reason why she said she wasn’t ready was actually just because she didn’t feel like she had had enough time to put on make-up and get put together before their date. Of course, she was so ready to marry Jacob, but she wanted to “get ready” a little more before then. But Jacob had other plans–he had all of their friends and family surrounding them, and even a friend flying a drone, when he got down on one knee and proposed to Elise. She describes how in all of the pictures her face is one of pure shock because she truly was not expecting it given that Jacob had just promised he wouldn’t propose. In the end, it all turned out perfect though.
Elise & Jacob’s wedding was full of elements of sentimentality throughout the day. Everything had a purpose and a special meaning. But some of the most meaningful moments came from the words shared with them by their friends and family. Their wedding had some of the best speeches we’ve ever heard and included moments from both of their fathers, his best man, and her maid of honor.
These two love birds also shared intimate vows during their ceremony that truly felt as if they had been shared straight from the heart. Elise & Jacob’s words to each other were a strong proclamation of love and showcased exactly how much they cared for one another. We loved how every spoken moment had elements of comedy that gave you a peak into their relationship, as well as, sweet moments that showed just how much they loved each other, their friends, and their family.
