A dewy summer afternoon at their church for the ceremony, a lunch with close friends and family, followed by a reception with their fun-loving friends and family at The Barn at Sioux Monti in Idaville, IN, and then finishing off the night with salsa and chips, cupcakes, and tons of dancing,—this was Katie & Andy’s special day.

POBLANO’S, 4-H, AND WORKIN’ BOOTS… THE START OF ANY GREAT RELATIONSHIP.

When we asked them how they met, Katie said, “Honestly, I don’t remember the very first time we met. We were in 4H together growing up. We showed sheep against each other and participated in shooting sports together. We both got too old for it, and I moved away for collage for a year. However, the summer of 2016, we hit it off again at the location where we grew up together—the county fair. We hung out that last night of the fair, and he left me (HAHA I always joke with him about that).”

Keeping the farm running as a couple is a team effort, and sharing their love for one another while doing so makes the job seem not like a chore at all. Andy proposed to Katie on June 6, 2019. It was a very hot day, and they were on their last field of planting corn. Katie says she went out to ride on the tractor with Andy for a while before she planned to leave for a meeting that evening. She told the story that, “He made me walk half way through a 90 acre field to get on the tractor (I was not happy! Haha). He got off the tractor as I got on. He asked me to get down to help him check seeds depths in the ground and as I was doing it he asked if I wanted to see this really cool rock he found. Knowing Andy I thought it would be an arrowhead or an odd shaped pebble. When I turned around it was a rock… my ring!”

Best friends now married!

When we asked Katie what she was most excited about before her wedding day she said, “Marrying my best friend and having a great time celebrating & dancing.” She was able to do both all in one amazing wedding day. They started out at their church in Monticello, Indiana. Katie got her dress on while Andy casually slipped into his dress shirt before walking down the aisle to get married and become Mr. & Mrs. Kyburz.

Katie & Andy chose not to do a first look, but Katie instead had one with her father. He waited outside the church while Katie walked around the corner from behind him before tapping her dad on the shoulder. He turned around to the most beautiful woman he had seen in her gorgeous white dress, hair done so well, and make-up all done up. She looked absolutely beautiful.

When Katie walked down the aisle towards Andy, Andy couldn’t help but make a face to send her smile from ear to ear. They continued the ceremony with traditional vows, exchanging of the rings, and finally with a much anticipated first kiss where Andy just couldn’t wait to embraced Katie and finally could call her his wife.

A lunch with family then reception with all their friends.

Katie & Andy chose to do a unique lunch with their closest friends and family within the church basement. They had food catered and were able to intimately thank all of their family for coming to celebrate their love. After the lunch, everyone headed to The Barn at Sioux Monti for a traditional reception celebration. More friends came to commemorate Katie & Andy’s union by toasting with their wedding party as everyone gave speeches.

If one thing is for sure, Katie & Andy’s first day as husband and wife was met with loads of laughter, hugs from plenty of family, and tons of celebrations with friends.
