This family committed to a hike with me… it was amazing!! We hiked maybe a mile into a trail at the Tippecanoe River State Park to take some breath taking photos in a pine tree forest. While we also hit up some of my tried and true spots at the park, I was so thankful that they were willing to walk a bit along a trail to let me take some stunning pine tree forest pictures.
It’s never too late to document the growth of your families. The Collins told me during their session that their children had to have been just little tots the last time they had professional family photos done. While this makes me sad, I still think that as grown adults they will love seeing these images of them older and continuing to grow. So much in our life changes at all times (whether you’re 5 or 50) so documenting moments no matter how grown you may seem are still so important.
Photographers have a superpower—we can freeze time! Families grow and change so fast, but yearly photos capture changes in our lives. They capture who you are at this point in time. Too often we can forget about our past. We can forget how cute our children were when they were little and before you know it they are off to college or getting married and having children of their own. It is important to document their growth and how our families have changed. Photos can freeze these moments of growth and document each step of change. This is why it’s important to get family photos every year. (Read more in our blog post called “5 Reasons to get Family Photos Every Year.”
