Monica & Thad heard about LVP Studios from our good friend, and fellow photographer, Gina. Due to the current global pandemic, these two decided that they would have a ceremony and short cake cutting reception with their closest family and friends, but then plan a larger reception later next year. And with that being said, they suddenly had an urge to film the event to share with everyone else who could not attend their ceremony this year. What a great use of video, and why video is so important on your wedding day.
High school sweethearts together forever!
One of the first questions I ask all of my new brides before we meet for the first time is “How did you and your future spouse meet?” I love breaking the ice with questions like this because it always gets every couple giddy to answer and talk about their significant other. Monica told us about their relationship and said, “We met in 2013 as sophomores in high school through mutual friends while going out T-peeing and to haunted houses as a small group! We just hit it off from there.”
Thad got Monica an infinity necklace for their 1st dating anniversary, it was such a special intimate item in their relationship that when Thad decided he was going to propose he designed the engagement ring to match! In July of 2019, Monica & Thad were on a family vacation with Monica’s family and decided to walk the beach at sunrise on the 2nd and that’s when he surprised her! Monica said, “I had no idea it was coming (after all, I had packed his clothes for vacation), but it turns out he had my cousin (and now maid of honor) pack the ring in her bag so I wouldn’t see it coming!” Monica was excited to tell us how much she loves her necklace and matching engagement ring because it’s something that is extremely special to them!
A simple wedding with lilacs and silver accents.
The day of their wedding everyone woke up to rain and dreary weather, but that didn’t stop these two from taking in every second of their big day—and actually, the sun came out just for them a few minutes into pictures. Monica started out with hair and make-up at Allure Hair in Logansport and finished off getting ready at the Shiloh Christian Church. Later, Thad and his groomsmen showed up at the Shiloh Christian Church as well to finish putting on their suits and preparing to walk down the aisle.
Monica walked barefoot down the aisle with her father in a gorgeous dress from Ellen’s Bridal. She told us before her wedding that she was so nervous about not tripping. She described herself as a total klutz and even though she was planning to walk down the aisle barefoot, she claims to fall over nothing all the time! She carried silk flowers of purple and lilac, and wore jewelry with accents of silver. When we asked Monica about the theme for her wedding she told us that there was “[n]o specific vibe, more simple than anything. We don’t really plan to decorate the church as we like it’s natural beauty.”
And finally they said, “I do!” and these two high school sweethearts could marry their best friend. After exchanging rings, celebrating their first kiss, and walk away as husband and wife, Monica & Thad waited at the back of the church to see everyone off and thank them for coming. The cake ceremony followed shortly after this and included a catered meal, cake cutting, and special time with close friends and family.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Alexander!
Monica & Thad, we are so glad that Gina recommended us and that you entrusted LVP Studios to capture your wedding day with video. It was such a special wedding day, and I am so very thankful that I got to be a part of memorializing your love for one another. I truly enjoyed being your wedding videographer.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander! I hope you love this highlight film from your wedding.
