Alyson & Parker had planned their big day in the midst of restrictions, shut downs, and a global pandemic, but when the day finally came they were simply excited to share their love with their friends and family. They planned their big day at the Teaberry Hill Estates Church in Medaryville, Indiana, their reception scheduled to be at the Jasper County Fairgrounds, and to everyone’s excitement the restrictions were lifted the day of their wedding!
High school sweethearts finally tied the knot!
According to Alyson, Parker’s best friend had been trying to get these two together for awhile while in school. This best friend wanted them to go to prom for junior year, but Alyson wasn’t having it. Of course, she played hard to get… She says, “I wouldn’t go and we exchanged about 5 text massages.” Then senior year came. Alyson had a class at Parker’s school and he ended up being in that class as well. They would Snapchat every now and then and kept a simple friendship. But then one day Alyson forgot her iPad at the school. She had to get Parker’s number and asked him to get her iPad because he was the only one that Alyson knew and talked to from his school. Needless to say, he retrieved the iPad and the rest is history.
From then on, Parker would text Alyson every day to the point where they eventually started dating. After four years, he proposed! Thanks to the help of Gina from GFB Photography, he was able to pop the question at his family pictures and ended up surprising Alyson by having her family there as well when he did it. They captured everything with beautiful photos that they will cherish for a lifetime.
A simple and elegant small town wedding.
Wearing a stunning gown by Sophia’s Bridal, carrying floral arrangements made by herself, and surrounded by the wedding colors of navy and light pink, Alyson & Parker said “I do” in front of their friends and family at Teaberry Church in Medaryville, Indiana. The officiant shared stories of their relationship, they completed a special sand ceremony, and finally tied the knot with a quick first kiss.
Before her wedding, Alyson told me that she was nervous about “messing up [the] vows/stuttering in front of everyone“ but the words that her and Parker shared were nothing short of perfect. In the end, I know that they were both just excited to be marrying their best friend.
Their reception was held at the Jasper County Fairgrounds in Rensselaer, Indiana. Alyson, Parker, and their bridal party climbed into a charter bus from Lafayette Limo for transportation from the wedding venue to the reception. They arrived at the Jasper County Fairgrounds shortly before a downpour and started the evening celebrations inside.
