A warm summer wedding at their family church, Shiloh Christian Church, in Logansport, Indiana, where they gifted one another with hand written notes and a new bible before walked down the aisle to see each other for the first time surrounded by some of their closest friends and family, then ending the night at the Cass County Fairgrounds with good food, tear-jerking speeches, the best company, and plenty of dancing—this was Ashley & Austin’s special day.
Puppies, instant love, and a spiritual connection.
When asking about how they met Ashley told us, “We both went to the same high school together. I graduated with his older sister. We never really talked to one another but we knew of each other.” After high school and later in life Austin adds Ashley on Instagram and they start talking about her dog that she had at the time. We love these types of stories because it’s similar to Trevor and I, and they always remind us of our own love. Trevor and I originally bonded over his husky Skye (and now Skye claims me more than him, haha).
To hear more about Ashley & Austin’s story you can check out their engagement session blog post here. Last fall we met Ashley & Austin at the Tippecanoe River State Park on a gorgeous evening. The leaves were still beautifully colored and surrounding this couple with warmth. Ashley had previously met us during a wedding consultation (which we do with all of our brides) over some coffee, but this was a great opportunity for us to get to know them both a bit more and finally say hello to Austin in person.
Their engagement story is one of a kind because for Ashley & Austin it was an “INSTA” connection after meeting. They said, “After about a year of us dating Austin proposed to me in my house with a puppy with a collar and tag that said “marry me?” We couldn’t be more happier together with our new puppy.” How adorable!! Who doesn’t want a new puppy and an amazing husband for life.
Finally married.
During the course of working with us, we typically send a couple of questionnaires to all of our couples. The initial questionnaire gives us a chance to learn a little bit more about you, and then second questionnaire goes into even more detail about your wedding day plans. In both questionnaires we always have one question that says: “What are you most excited about for your wedding?” And each time (months and months apart, mind you), Ashley & Austin answered this question with “Marrying the love of my life!”
Ashley & Austin’s wedding had a very elegant and natural theme with nice summer colors like navy, peach, and blush. Ashley wore a stunning fitted gown covered in lace from David’s Bridal and draped a classic shaw over her shoulders. Austin and his men arrived sporting navy tuxedos from Louies Tux Shop.
Having chosen not to do a first look, Ashley & Austin waited to see each other until Ashley walked down the aisle. Austin could hardly contain his emotions as the love of his life approached him as the last time as his fiance and would be leaving holding his hand as his wife. The rejoiced down the aisle together before leaving in Austin’s new car via a bubble send off surrounded by the guests.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Harmon!
