We're Trevor & Danyell--Northern Indiana's Wedding and Family Photography & Videography team. We focus on documenting your joyful, authentic, and timeless memories.
A morning spent getting ready with their favorite people, secretly hiding away not to ruin their special first look moment at Mill Creek Gardens in Winamac, followed by a rainy outdoor ceremony and umbrellas in the crowd, and finally finishing off the night with friends and family celebrating their first night together as husband and wife at The Knights of Columbus—this was Amber & Dalton’s special day.
The wrong kind of spatula leads to love
When I asked Amber how they’d met she said, “Dalton and I met via a dating app.” She then told me this hilarious story about the first time they met in person. It was at a party at Amber’s house. Dalton apparently tried to help out by cooking the taco meat that night but Amber says he “used the wrong kind of spatula with the pan he chose, so he destroyed my pan and never lived it down.” Thankfully they were able to move past this and their love for each other is ever strong (despite the ruined pan, haha).
We love getting to know our clients first during their engagement sessions with us. The same was true for Amber & Dalton. You can see their overcast engagement session from this past fall at France Park here. We all want those sunset glowy photos, but often times I find that an overcast day can actually create even better photos with smooth lighting and amazing white skies. We love being able to take more risks and photograph differently during overcast days when you don’t have to worry about a glaring sun. That’s how it was for Amber & Dalton’s engagement session and wedding. Weather challenges that aren’t a problem for us!
A light rain didn’t stop these two.
What started out as perfect weather turning into some sprinkling clouds that just made the day that much more special for Amber & Dalton. They were both so laid back and calm about everything unfolding on their wedding day. One thing that Amber made clear over and over again during her time of chatting with us and planning their wedding was that she trusted the professionals that she hired. Obviously this is how we want all of our couples to approach hiring us for their wedding.
When you have faith that your professional photographers and videographers can capture your day perfectly no matter the circumstances then your wedding day can go on stress-free no matter what gets thrown your way. For Amber & Dalton, this meant that the rain brought no concerns. Thankfully, at LVP Studios we always throw in a few clear umbrellas when packing up our vehicle of a wedding day.
Even though it was raining as they walked down the aisle, Amber & Dalton’s wedding ceremony at Mill Creek Gardens in Winamac, Indiana, was perfect. They then headed to The Knights of Columbus just on the other side of town for their reception. For a personal touch, Amber & Dalton knew that they wanted to play the ‘Thunder’ drinking game at their reception. This game requires everyone to have a drink in their hand and the DJ plays “Thunderstruck” by ACDC. Whenever the song says thunder or some variant of that the next person in the circle starts drinking. It was such a fun game to get their entire friend group involved in.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Johnson!

It was such a perfect wedding day, and we are so very thankful that we got to be a part of memorializing your love for one another. We truly enjoyed being your wedding photographer and videographer. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson! We hope you love your photos and this highlight film from your wedding.
