A wedding and reception at The Barn on 400 in Anderson, Indiana. The weather was perfect, everyone looked stunning, and the love these two shared was blanketed by the love their family and friends have for them too. They each got ready in their own bridal suites before heading out for an intimate first look at a nearby park, then they began their ceremony which was one of the most beautiful and heart-felt we have ever witnessed. Afterwards, of course, they danced the night away as husband and wife—this was Kayleigh & Aaron’s special day.
Their story has the cutest beginning
Kayleigh was a server in the town of Oldenburg, and Aaron was coming to a wedding right across the street. Fate seemed to pull them together as Aaron stopped in the same restaurant where Kayleigh was working with some friends before the reception. She thought he was cute, so Kayleigh’s friend, Kat, slipped Aaron her phone number… and the rest is history!
Their engagement has a lot to do with that night in Oldenburg–Aaron wanted to make the proposal a complete surprise and as sentimental as possible! They went down to Oldenburg for a birthday party. Their plan was to have a few drinks with Kat and her husband after the party. Being funny and cute, Aaron wanted to take a picture in front of the church where they first met, and unbeknownst to Kayleigh it was all part of his plan to propose right then! He also somehow managed to get both of their families at the pub where we met to celebrate afterwards!
Kayleigh told us about a month before their wedding, “My grandmother passed away in January, so she will have a reserved seat for the ceremony and a spot at the reception. I want to do whatever I can to have her presence known. We had just talked about what she wanted to wear to the wedding right before she passed.” And her presence was truly felt all day. While getting ready, Kayleigh had a basket of letters written to her from her bridesmaids. Tucked within those letters was a note from her Grandma that brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
During their ceremony her grandmothers presence was also made apparent by a special seat placed just for her. It was obvious that Kayleigh’s grandmother was blanketing them with her love even without being physically there. Her love for them was felt through out the day—as they were getting ready, during the ceremony, during dances, and especially as they left for the evening as husband and wife.
