This recent wedding at The Blissful Barn in Three Oaks, Michigan was nothing short of unforgettable. Before the ceremony, they shared an intimate first touch around the barn doors which was a quiet and emotional moment where they held hands and exchanged private vows without yet seeing each other. It sprinkled gently on and off throughout the morning, adding a romantic charm to the atmosphere, but when ceremony time came, Jena was determined to say “I do” outdoors, even with the looming storm clouds above. For a short while, it seemed like the weather would cooperate, but about twenty minutes into the ceremony, the sky cracked open and rain poured down. Instead of dampening the mood, it created a scene straight out of a movie. Guests laughed, umbrellas opened, and the couple continued their vows surrounded by the sound of raindrops. The clear umbrellas we brought added the perfect whimsical touch, turning the downpour into something purely magical. It was one of those rare days where imperfection made everything even more perfect, a wedding no one will ever forget.
A Tinder beginning
During their engagement session earlier this year Jena & Cody shared how they met on Tinder and the rest was history. Jena told us, “The proposal was at my parents house on Thanksgiving and my sister helped him set up a whole little hay bale/fall scene which is a exactly what I wanted.”
