We met up with the Robinson family in downtown Indianapolis at White River State Park for their Christmas jammie photos, and it was just the sweetest time. The trees still held onto a touch of warm fall color, giving us that perfect blend of autumn coziness and holiday cheer. Their blanket was soft and snuggly, the air was crisp, and their little girl was absolutely full of giggles–the kind that make you smile without even realizing it.
This session was special for so many reasons, but mostly because of my friendship with Kaiti. She and I go all the way back to our college days, nearly ten years ago now, when we were still figuring out life, chasing dreams, and laughing our way through late-night study sessions. She’s been such an important part of my life that she even stood by my side on my wedding day. So to see her now, years later, stepping into motherhood with such grace and joy… it’s something that genuinely warms my heart. Photographing her family felt less like a session and more like documenting a beautiful chapter in a friend’s story.
There’s something magical about capturing families during the holiday season. The air feels lighter, the smiles come easier, and there’s a sense of togetherness that only this time of year brings. Whether it’s matching pajamas, cozy blankets, or little ones bursting with excitement, these sessions are filled with moments you know will be cherished for years to come. Holiday photos aren’t just about what everyone is wearing, they’re about preserving the feeling of this season: the closeness, the joy, the traditions, and the love that only grows stronger year after year. Being able to freeze these moments for a family I adore made this session one I’ll never forget.
