We all want those sunset glowy photos, but often times I find that an overcast day can actually create even better photos with smooth lighting and amazing white skies. I love being able to take more risks and photograph differently during overcast days when you don’t have to worry about a glaring sun. That’s how it was for Amber & Dalton’s engagement session. A beautiful overcast day at France Park in Logansport, Indiana.
The wrong kind of spatula leads to love
I truly enjoyed chatting with Amber & Dalton and getting to know them both a bit more. We first met at The LVP Studio and discussed their big day. The first step in the booking process is always for us to get in touch and meet for coffee. When couples reach out to us via our website we will be in touch to set up a time to meet for coffee (or chat virtually). Wedding consultations are first on our list and are totally complimentary to all couples. We talk about their big day and how we can help capture every moment.
Our coffee chats can last anywhere between 30-60 minutes. Of course this time is mostly spent chatting about your big day and your option for booking with us. We like to answer all of your questions in person (or virtually) instead of through email because we can be more candid and get to know each other at bit more. We loved talking with Amber & Dalton–it felt like we were casual friends just catching up.
When I asked Amber how they’d met she said, “Dalton and I met via a dating app.” She then told me this hilarious story about the first time they met in person. It was at a party at Amber’s house. Dalton apparently tried to help out by cooking the taco meat that night but Amber says he “used the wrong kind of spatula with the pan he chose, so he destroyed my pan and never lived it down.” Thankfully they were able to move past this and their love for each other is ever strong (despite the ruined pan, haha).
Stay tuned for Amber and Dalton’s June 2022 Wedding!!
An early summer wedding is the perfect time for these two to get married. They’ll be saying their “I Do’s” at Mill Creek Gardens in Winamac, Indiana. We can’t wait to embrace their theme of the idea of sunflowers and navy colors! Amber told us, “My philosophy on wedding planning is to choose people that are good at what they do, give them an idea of what I like, and let them do their thing. If I choose the right people, they’ll make magic happen without me having to stress all the details,” and we love that! We will be photographing and video recording their special day. We know that these two are counting the days that their family and friends can all get together while they finally say their forever vows.
