Ah the Campbell girls! I love seeing them year after year. This year we met Emily, Parker, and Ellie at France Park in Logansport. Just like last year, I was so excited to see Emily and her girls’ names pop up on my calendar again. This was our third year in a row doing pictures together. They were a blast to take pictures with last year, and the year before, and the same was true this time around. I’m hoping to see them for pictures every fall season–how fun would that be??
Photographers have a superpower—we can freeze time! Families grow and change so fast. Yearly photos capture changes in our lives. They capture who you are at this point in time. Too often we can forget about our past. We can forget how cute our children were when they were little and before you know it they are off to college or getting married and having children of their own. It is important to document their growth and how our families have changed.
I have three sisters, and every year we’re all doing something new. Whether one’s graduating high school, or another is going off to complete her doctorate program, or another is moving half way across the country, we all seem to be changing constantly. Little things that turn into bigger things, and when you blink your eyes it seems like it all went by so fast. I remember running up our driveway together so we didn’t miss the school bus to middle school… but now all of a sudden, I’m married, my sisters are grown living on their own, and my parents are empty nesters. When did this happen?
This is how it feels every time I see the Campbell girls. It was so fun to go to France Park with them this year. We have been to France Park numerous times to take photos, but every time we go it is just even more beautiful than the time before. Emily, Parker, and Ellie showed up to the beach at France Park wearing mustard yellow and burgundy/maroon. I love how their outfits stood out from the scenery. The setting sun made everything look so sharp and vibrant.
