After COVID cancellations and reschedules, these two were finally able to tie the knot as husband and wife on this beautiful sunny spring day in Kokomo, Indiana. Abby & Ryan shared a touching first look in a beautiful brick alley way downtown before spending the early afternoon with their closest friends and heading to their personal residence for a decorated ceremony in a mowed patch of field. After saying their vows they shared a kiss as husband and wife and headed to their reception site under a white tent in their backyard where they ended the night with cake and pie, dancing, and a confetti filled evening—this was Abby & Ryan’s special day.
Unexpected reschedules lead to a long awaited wedding!
It seems like ages since I first heard the story of Abby & Ryan. Abby reached out to us in late 2019 about her upcoming wedding planned for 2020–but unfortunately, do to the unforeseen events of the pandemic they decided to push their April 2020 wedding back an entire year. This was the reality for so many brides during this time, and it hurt all of our hearts at the time to imagine having to wait to marry your loved one an entire year. But Abby & Ryan persevered and here we are today, finally getting them together as husband and wife.
Teenagers brought together again.
Abby originally told me the story of their love like this: “We met briefly as teenagers, but didn’t really know each other. I went to dinner with a mutual friend of ours, and she want to set me up with him, but I wasn’t ready at the time. We later connected through Tinder and texted each other everyday until we met for dinner and the rest is history.”
He later proposed on their way to a planned baseball game. When chatting more with Abby she said that they were supposed to go to a baseball game, but Ryan apparently had other plans. He asked Abby to meet him outside the Conrad Hotel in downtown, and little did she know he had the ring hidden in his boot. After asking the question and getting her to say yes, he then surprised Abby with their closest friends for a dinner.
