Extended family sessions on the beach can be a blast. One of our favorite locations is France Park in Logansport, Indiana because even on a chilly day (like it was for this session), we can still get stunning photos with beautiful color and sparkling water.

We started the session with a large group photo on the beach before breaking out into pictures with each of the individual families included in this extended family session. We typically like to start with all of the photos that contain children early on in the session so that we can ensure they are in good moods right from the start. This was especially important today because it was rather chilly.

Moving on to photos with adults and older kids makes the last half of any extended family flow so smoothly. That being said, we try to make it clear from the beginning of any of our photo sessions that these are meant to be stress free. We really truly don’t force smiles too hard on kids if it’s not happening, we roll with the punches along the way, and ultimately want you to walk away from any of our sessions feeling good about the experience as well as the photos as the outcome.
