A beautiful day at a personal residence in Winamac, Indiana sharing a special first look moment under their family’s oak trees, then finally walking down the aisle saying their precious vows in front of their closest family and friends in their backyard, and finishing off the night traveling to the Meeting Place Of Monterey (aka the old school) where they ate dinner, listened to many amazing speeches, and celebrated with tons of dancing on their first night together as husband and wife—this was Riley & Shawn’s special day.
A kitchen counter engagement
All of our wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session. Meaning, it’s included no matter what! We do this so that we can get to know you and your fiance even more. Also, having an engagement session prior to the big day makes your wedding day flow easier and gives you a preview of what to expect from us on your wedding day. During Riley & Shawn’s engagement session we enjoyed getting to know each other even more. We talked about their jobs, school, and their plans for the future. When I asked them what they were most excited about their upcoming wedding they said that they can’t wait to be sharing their love and simply being together.
They met through Riley’s cousin. Shawn is best friends with Riley’s cousin so it was easy for them to get together! I then asked them about their proposal. While it wasn’t anything grand, it was the most perfect proposal for Riley & Shawn. It just fits their personalities so well. According to Riley, “Our proposal was in the kitchen of Shawn’s dads’ house.” They were sitting at the counter, and Shawn was playing with the ring he had gotten Riley first awhile ago. He was asking Riley about the size and trying to be all sly, but then that’s when he pulled out the engagement ring and asked Riley to spend forever together.
Old souls finally get married
Riley & Shawn told us that they’re old souls. We love that they can describe themselves together in that way, and it truly appears that they have each found their soul mate. Riley specifically said, “We are old souls [that] enjoy the outdoors and hanging out with our cute pup, Ava.”
Riley & Shawn had a beautiful backyard wedding in Winamac, Indiana. The weather was perfect, the sun shined so bright, and they truly could not have asked for a better day. After a first look under the large oak trees, they began their ceremony near their beautifully decorated floral arch surrounded by friends and family. Afterwards, they traveled to the Meeting Place Of Monterey (aka the old school) where they celebrated their marriage, ate good food, cut cake, and danced the night away as husband and wife.
