Brittany first reached out to us when she found out she was pregnant. We had also just recently found out that we were pregnant too, so the baby fever was so high between us! We were super excited to be sharing these moments of great change with one another. Brittany wanted us to document their gender reveal (a tannerite explosion smoke bomb) and capture this important memory with photo and video to use as a their announcement online.

On a Saturday evening at a personal residence in LaPorte, Indiana, the Denno family and friends gathered together for a gender reveal smoke bomb. They were using tannerite to create an explosion that would release a smoke bomb into the air. Blue would the color to represent a boy, and pink would be the color to represent a girl. Sam Denno, Brittany’s husband, would use a high powered riffle to shoot the tannerite and create a gender reveal smoke bomb of sorts.

We all waited anxiously…

Their family and friends waited as Sam got ready. Then, they started a 10 second count down. Brittany held their daughter as Trevor and I filmed and photographed the event. When Sam shot the gun, the tannerite exploded with a puff of blue! Everyone was so excited to see that the final gender reveal showed that Baby Denno #2 was going to be a boy!

After the excitement of revealing the sex of their baby, Brittany and Sam took photos with us in celebration. We played more with blue smoke, showed off their ultrasound, and even took some pictures with their daughter. Moments like this make us so grateful to have clients that understand the need for capturing these important memories. We were able to document this special reveal with photos and videos in a way that commemorates the life of their new baby.
