Who would have thought we’d be treated to such a gorgeous sunset at the very end of November? The golden light poured through the trees as the Jensen family met us at the Nature Center within Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac for their session this past weekend, and it truly felt like the perfect surprise blessing to close out the year. The soft glow wrapped around every moment, giving us that dreamy, warm atmosphere photographers always hope for but never expect so late in the season.
From the very first few minutes, we found ourselves cracking the code to coax giggles out of their sweet little girl—those belly laughs that light up an entire frame. And then, of course, there was their newborn baby boy, bundled up and absolutely precious in every shot. Sessions with families at multiple stages of life are some of our favorites, because you get such a rich mix of energy and emotion. Watching the Jensens love on their babies, soak up the last warm sunset of the year, and simply enjoy being together reminded us why these moments matter so much.
As we step into the holiday season, this session felt like the perfect breath of gratitude and calm. We’re officially caught up on edits (a major win this time of year!), with just one final wedding on the horizon before the new year. It’s that rare window where we get to pause, reflect, and appreciate all of the incredible people we’ve worked with over the past twelve months.
We’re heading into Christmas feeling thankful—thankful for families like the Jensens, thankful for the stories we get to tell, and thankful for the chance to slow down just a little before diving into another busy, beautiful year ahead.
