There are some stories that feel extra special to capture on video, and this one is at the top of our list. On a bright and beautiful Sunday evening, we met up with Kelsey and Alex at the Indiana Dunes for a session that wasn’t about photos—it was about creating something even more meaningful: a pregnancy announcement video for their little one arriving in March 2026.

If you’ve been following along reading our blog for awhile now, you’ll know that this isn’t the first milestone we’ve captured for them. A few years ago, we captured video for their wedding, documenting one of the biggest days of their lives. To now be trusted with announcing the next chapter of their story—their growing family—is such an honor. Being invited back again and again to celebrate these milestones through video is truly one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

When we arrived at the Dunes, the golden light was flooding the sky, casting that warm glow that makes everything feel dreamy and timeless. Of course, a Sunday evening at the beach comes with one challenge: the crowds. Families, couples, and groups of friends were spread out across the sand, enjoying the same gorgeous weather. But we knew we wanted something more intimate, something that felt like it belonged just to Kelsey and Alex. So, we walked with them down the shoreline, past the busiest stretches of beach, until we found the perfect spot tucked away from the noise and distractions.

There, with the sound of waves rolling in and the sun beginning its slow descent toward the horizon, the scene unfolded. Kelsey and Alex shared soft smiles, tender embraces, and the pure joy of knowing that soon they would be welcoming their first child. There’s something so unique about capturing a pregnancy announcement with video compared to photos—it’s not just about freezing one frame, but about capturing movement, laughter, and all of those in-between moments that words can’t fully describe. Their excitement radiated through every clip, making the video feel alive with anticipation and love.
