Sedef & Jonathan got married on a Sunday at the Grand Hall at Historic Union Station in Downtown Indianapolis. Their Turkish American wedding adorned in gold and light purple truly encapsulated their classic vibes and fit the historic look of the venue perfectly. They shared in special first look below the stained glass on the balcony before saying “I do” at their ceremony and wrapping the night up with a fun-filled reception surrounded by their friends and family.
They clicked from the beginning
Sedef & Jonathan met on the Hinge dating app. The first time they met was for coffee on the Monon. They joked about how Sedef was very nervous and couldn’t stop talking, but Jonathan thought that was refreshing because on his previous dates it always seemed difficult to keep the conversation going. With Sedef, Jonathan felt like the conversation just flowed so naturally and they seemed to click from the beginning.
Jonathan orchestrated a surprise proposal with precision. While his mother took Sedef and her mother out for a relaxing girls’ day, he meticulously set the scene with candles, flowers, and a romantic dinner. As they arrived at his mother’s house, Jonathan waited anxiously. Sedef was stunned into silence, and Jonathan’s nerves nearly got the better of him. His secret-keeping skills failing him, he revealed that everyone was already in on the plan. The moment was filled with tears of joy, as they wiped away happy tears from each other’s faces.
Sedef and Jonathan’s Sunday wedding at the Grand Hall at Historic Union Station in Downtown Indianapolis was a beautiful blend of Turkish and American traditions. Adorned in elegant gold and soft light purple tones, their classic style fit perfectly against the stunning, historic backdrop of the venue.
The couple shared an intimate first look beneath the colorful stained glass on the balcony, a quiet and emotional moment before officially saying “I do” during their heartfelt ceremony. One of the most memorable details was their unique thumbprint ceremony, where guests were invited to leave their inked thumbprint on a tree canvas, creating a living work of art to symbolize the strong community surrounding Sedef and Jonathan.
Their reception was a true celebration, featuring a vibrant mix of Turkish and American music that kept everyone dancing well into the night. Speeches were shared in both English and Turkish, highlighting the love and support from both sides of their families. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a lively 360-degree photo booth, capturing fun moments from all angles.
It was a day full of love, laughter, and joy—a perfect reflection of Sedef and Jonathan’s story and the beginning of their next chapter together.
