We met the Swails Family for the first time at the Nature Center in the Tippecanoe River State Park for a fun family photo session. We previously had to reschedule due to rain and thank goodness we did because the back-up day we picked worked perfectly. Right at the end of the their session it started to sprinkle and it all felt like it was meant to be.
During their session we chatted and got to know one another. We loved how friendly and open their children were, and they were amazing to photograph. Children can often be a wild card when it comes to family photos, but this group was a dream and made our job super easy.
Photographers have a superpower—we can freeze time! Families grow and change so fast, but yearly photos capture changes in our lives. They capture who you are at this point in time. Too often we can forget about our past. We can forget how cute our children were when they were little and before you know it they are off to college or getting married and having children of their own. It is important to document their growth and how our families have changed. Photos can freeze these moments of growth and document each step of change. This is why it’s important to get family photos every year. (Read more in our blog post called “5 Reasons to get Family Photos Every Year.”
