A beautifully traditional ceremony starting at All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport, Indiana and then finishing off the night with a lively hispanic reception at The Gathering Place at the Old Mill with dinner, lots of speeches, mariachi music, and tons of dancing as husband and wife—this was Valeria & Ricardo’s special day.
Chatting online leads to love
Valeria told us that her and Ricardo met through social media. They began chatting online, and as they say, the rest is history! When we asked them about their proposal, Valeria said, “He surprised me with a proposal.” She thought they were just going on a nice date, so he took her to dinner and to the canal in Indy. But little did she know he had more up his sleeve. She said, “He had me looking up at the sky at the helicopters coming to the nearby hospital as a distraction (because I am a nurse) and when I turned around he was on one knee with family cheering us on!”
A traditional Hispanic wedding
Valeria & Ricardo celebrated their wedding day with their cultural traditions in mind. They had a miriachi band during their catholic wedding with lots of traditional touches that were both special to Valeria & Ricardo as well as their families.
After their intimate ceremony, they partied the night away at The Gathering Place at the Old Mill, another local venue near Logansport, Indiana. The mariachi continued at this venue before a DJ and live band took over. They continued with culturally tradition elements, and even though Valeria told us that she was nervous about all of the dancing, she did great! It was a fun evening.
