The weather called for rain, but Brittany & Paul had the good fortune of mostly clouds and sun on their day. They spent the morning getting ready with their bridal party before heading to the church to begin their catholic ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. After saying their covenantal “I Dos” they headed to Coxhall Gardens for outdoor photos of their happily married bliss. Finally, they finished off the evening at The Bluffs at Connor Prairie with best friends and family celebrating their first night together as husband and wife—this was Brittany & Paul’s special day.
They made their pups part of their day!
According to Brittany, “We met in college at Purdue during our junior year (2016). Both of us were active in our sorority/fraternity.” They went on to tell that it was a Cactus Thursday, and they were going out with friends separately and happened to meet up due to mutual friends at Brother’s bar on campus. Brittany said, “We met up for a few dates during the week, I invited Paul to a sorority event and shortly after we started dating!” And as they say, the rest is history.
On their 1 year anniversary they got a golden retriever puppy together! Fast forward, a few apartments together, moving to north side Indy, and getting another dog, a Bernese mountain dog, together. They went to Florida in June of 2021 to visit those same mutual friends who were there when they first met at Brother’s bar. They went out to a dinner reservation together and Paul proposed before dinner on the beach while everyone took photos! You can read more about their story and view their engagement photos here.
At their wedding, their two dogs that they share even made special appearances. They had figurines of their pups on their cake, and they had special designated drink signs named after their pups. It definitely was a fun little touch.
A traditional ceremony and elegant reception
Brittany & Paul’s ceremony took place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. After getting ready privately, Paul saw Brittany for the first time when she walked down the aisle. Greeted with a traditional handoff and a Catholic mass, they ended the ceremony with an exchanging of rings, gifts, and their first kiss as husband and wife.
After their ceremony and some quick family photos, they left in a party bus with their bridal party to head to Coxhall Gardens. There we were able to get some fun “just married” photos and take our time documenting their love, the fun of their friends, and all of the details. Brittany & Paul had an extended period of time between their ceremony and reception, which meant that we had lots of time for photos and video at the Gardens.
Their reception was at The Bluffs at Connor Prairie in Fishers, Indiana. It was elegantly decorated with blue table runners, floral elements all over, and beautiful place settings. Brittany & Paul spent time conversing with their guests during cocktail hour before their grand entrance later that evening. They danced the night away with all of their friends and family!
