A chilly winter day in Delphi at the Parish House on Union spent getting ready with their closest friends and family, saying their vows in a gorgeous historic church with stained glass windows, and finally finishing off dancing together as husband and wife—this was Ashton & Christopher’s wedding day.
One text and they haven’t stopped talking since
At their engagement session I asked Ashton how her and Christopher met. She said, “We actually met at work! The person training me was his best friend and was kinda my wing man!” Ashton’s work friend had asked her to come to Chris’ baptism. Later she messaged Chris congratulating him on his commitment, and they’ve never stopped talking since. One text, just one message, lead to this life long love and upcoming wedding.
Ashton also said, “The proposal was perfect, I had NO idea it was happening.” Chris had been telling Ashton for well over two weeks that he wanted to go kayaking up north by her parents. They did a four mile trail which Ashton also described as perfect. They then ended up at the Monticello park boat dock area. She said, “We walked up by the gazebo and I saw some decorations set up, then looked up and saw his mom taking pictures. I looked at him and said ‘what’s happening?’ He was like, ‘I think you know.’ I couldn’t stop smiling and then he proposed and my entire family came out from hiding along with his parents and we had a cookout to celebrate at the park.” You can read more about their love story here.
A spiritual wedding day
Ashton & Christopher got married at The Parish House on Union in Delphi, Indiana shortly before the holidays. It was a spiritual day filled with tears, laughter, and all of the good company. They shared in a first look together in the upstairs part of this old historic church. While the elements of the upstairs were rustic and in need of remodeling, we loved that it made their special moment together feel timeless and new.
Later, when Ashton walked down the aisle, they shared in prayer, live music sang by friends, and even a tree ceremony. The Hamiltons are good friends with their pastor, which made the ceremony intimate and special.
After they said their personal vows, Ashton & Christopher piggy-backed it down the aisle in celebration. They then listened to amazing speeches told by the best family and friends, and even shed a few tears.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Hamilton!
