Engagement sessions are some of our favorite shoots because we get to take the time to get to know our future wedding couples even more! We met with Kacie & Alex at Fairfield Lakes Park just outside of Lafayette one weekend for a fun engagement session with their pup! Kacie & Alex will be getting married next summer at New Journey Farms in Dayton and have chosen LVP Studios to document their special day with photo and video! We can’t wait to share more of their love story.
We’ve actually done a session for Kacie & Alex before. We love that we have clients returning to us again and again to document their special days. Their previous session was a holiday session AND a birthday session for their pup Bailey. Trevor and I are huge animal lovers (and even have a husky at home of our own), so we are thrilled when clients want to include their furry friends in their photos.
They’ve known each other since they were little
Alex and Kacie told us that they have known each other since they were little. They had mutual friends and hung out in groups together but were never very close until they were both in high school. Kacie said, “I had went through a break up and he could tell I needed a friend and a good laugh. He would find me in the hallway just about every day to scare me on the way to the lunch line.” Alex had gotten Kacie’s phone numbers just to check up on her, and then slowly they started hanging out as just friends.
Their first date was to the drive-in theater to see “Fast and Furious.” They told us that after that they “just connected and realized quickly we were best friends and felt so comfortable with one another!” Kacie and Alex waited close to a year before they “officially” started calling it dating, but then here we are 8 years later finally tying the knot!
Alex proposed on Christmas Day at Kacie’s family Christmas. He knew how much her family meant to her and how special it would be to have her grandparents apart of it. He actually had to leave the house that morning because he was so nervous and made an excuse that he had to go to the family campground for something. Kacie said, “I never thought much of it. When he got home to pick me up he said he took a quick shot of whiskey to help with the nerves. He isn’t much a drinker so that shows how nervous he was.”
Stay tuned for Kacie and Alex’s August 2022 Wedding!!
A beautiful summer wedding is the perfect time for these two to get married. They’ll be saying their “I Do’s” at New Journey Farms in Dayton. Navy blue, blush rose gold with greenery and a little bit of rustic vibes is what they’re going for on their wedding day, and we LOVE the ideas! We will be photographing and video recording their special day. We know that these two are counting the days that their family and friends can all get together while they finally say their forever vows.
