A gorgeous day spent getting ready with their favorite people before their special first look moment followed by an even more beautiful and sunny afternoon wedding at a family barn called Milliser Barn in Plymouth, Indiana, and finishing off the evening at their reception with best friends and family celebrating their first night together as husband and wife—this was Courtney & Timothy’s special day.
A long time coming
After years of dating, Timothy proposed to Courtney in Chicago sometime within December of 2018. They were on a business getaway trip for Timothy’s mother’s consignment shop, Black Cat Clothing Co. He proposed right in front of a huge lit up Christmas tree outside of the Cheesecake Factory. Due to amazing planning, Courtney had absolutely no idea and thought they were just taking a cute picture… little did she know he was about to get down on one knee and ask her to be with him forever.
As they say, this proposal was a long time coming. During Courtney & Timothy’s engagement session with us we chatted about how they got together way back in 2014 during the end of Junior year in High School. They had met through friends and became pretty good friends themselves. Apparently, Timothy always had a thing for Courtney, and she told us that she friend-zoned him forever. According to Courtney, this is something that Timothy likes to joke about this all the time! However, eventually something just clicked between the two of them, and they started dating. Courtney told us, “We have been together ever since. Some say we are inseparable!”
Their engagement session was at France Park in Logansport, Indiana on a brisk morning in January. Sunrise sessions have a different feeling than sunset. We love when we get the opportunity to wake up with a coffee and take pictures of our amazing couples. The fog on the water, the brisk air, and having the park all to ourselves just made the whole morning perfect!! To hear more about their story and to see their engagement photos, click here.
This venue is super special
Their wedding theme was rustic sunflowers! The main colors include yellow-gold, white, orange, and dusty blue. They did a gorgeous job decorating this old barn with their theme seen mainly displayed through their centerpieces and ceremony decor. Courtney told us, “My centerpieces were the first thing I envisioned! I knew I wanted some retro vibe, as that’s just my style. So our centerpieces will be sunflowers and baby’s breath in milk-white vases.” The centerpieces were sitting upon DIY sunflower burlap table runners on their wedding day just as she had imagined.
As for the ceremony, Courtney knew she wanted mums, sunflowers, and decorative leaves throughout the aisle and around the ceremony site. They had the entire event at a family barn. They told us, “This venue is super special because it was owned by both sides of our family (we had no idea before considering it).” It was in Tim’s family for over 100 years. Then Courtney’s ended up purchasing it. She went on to say, “This is initially why we choose this venue! We will be having a really laid back, small wedding consisting of immediate family members and close friends.”
