A windy fall afternoon at Burr Oak Barn in Culver, Indiana walking down the aisle in the barn set up between tables surrounded by their closest friends and family, heart felt letters, tear-jerking vows, and meaningful speeches, prayers, and more, and then finishing off the night with good food, plenty of desserts, and dancing with all those they cared about—this was Mandy & Coty’s special day.
High school sweethearts found each other again!!
Mandy & Coty dated when they were 15 years old and had known each other long before that. After two great years together they split up when Mandy and her family moved away. Then according to Mandy, “We both went our separate ways and loved our lives. The start of 2017 we sparked a conversation on Facebook and picked up right where we left off 14 years prior.”
Mandy was living in Florida and Coty in Indiana but they stayed in touch and made it work. However, when the hurricane hit Florida Mandy flew home and realized this is where she needed and wanted to be. So she moved home to Indiana (after a lot of persuasion from Coty). Mandy says, “two months later we moved my stuff home and moved into his house!“
After dating for two years Coty decided to surprise Mandy on their 2 year anniversary by having her climb into her tree stand where she found a sign he had placed and the most beautiful ring Mandy says she had ever seen. The sign read “Will you be my huntin’ partner for life?“ Their dreams were finally coming true—marrying their best friend since they were kids. Coty and Mandy have an adorable story that has lasted the test of time and many miles.
We’ve done their engagement photos, family photos, and now their wedding photos and video for this lovely couple. We first really got to know one another at their engagement photos at the Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac, Indiana where we spent a spring evening at the Nature Center taking fun and romantic pictures. You can read more about their engagement session and see their pictures here.
“The best love story you’ve ever heard.”
Fall weddings are some of our favorites. We love the colors, the weather, and the fall vibes. We photographed and recorded video on their special day. It featured sunflowers and all of the fall colors like burgundy, champagne, orange, and brown. They had special family antiques that they included in their wedding and items from those that had passed.
Mandy & Coty were excited to see all of their hard work and planning come together, friends and family all in one place, but most importantly Mandy told us that she couldn’t wait to see the look on Coty’s face when he first sees her walk down the aisle. When we asked Mandy what she was most excited about before her wedding day she said, “[I am] most excited to finally be getting married to my best friend and the one who competes me, and ready to have a great day with family and friends!”
Time and time again throughout their day the story of their love continued to come up in discussion. They spoke of how they met each other in their letters that they each read, Coty talked about how they were brought back together after many years apart, and both their best man and maid of honor spoke of their growing families that were now becoming one. Mandy’s maid of honor even wrapped up her speech saying to everyone that this was ”the best love story you’ve ever heard.”
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Singleton!
