A beautifully sunny afternoon at the most perfect venue, The Willow Creek Barn in Frankfort, Indiana followed by a reception with their fun-loving friends and family, and then finishing off the night with a game of corn hole and plenty of dancing together as husband and wife—this was Michelle & Austin’s special day.
When we asked Michelle what she was most excited about for her wedding day, she answered that she couldn’t wait to marry her best friend. Michelle & Austin’s love is simple and sweet, they care for each other, and they are obviously one another’s best friend.
Their wedding day started bright and early with each in their own respective bride and groom suites. They spent the morning clinking glasses with friends in celebration for the festivities and important moments that lie ahead. As the venue was decorated with rustic charm—elements like deer antlers and beautifully made silk flowers—Michelle was prepping her hair and make-up with her bridesmaids. Later, she slipped into a stunning gown from David’s Bridal while Austin threw on some jeans and his suit jacket.
Michelle & Austin chose not to do a first look, but instead read letters from one another behind the corner of a wall. It was adorable and sneaky and so sweet to see them so close together, but not actually seeing each other. They even held hands around the corner while Austin wiped tears from his eyes as he prepared himself to marry his best friend.
The sun came and went behind fluffy clouds on this beautiful blue sky day. As guests filled the benches near the willow tree and Austin stood waiting patiently at the top of the aisle, Michelle was prepping to walk towards her future husband being escorted by her dad.
Previously, Michelle and her dad had first look together. We prepped her dad and placed him so that he could not see his beautiful daughter walking towards him. Michelle finally asked him to turn around, and he was shocked by how grown and amazing his daughter looked.
The ceremony continued with traditional vows, exchanging of the rings, and finally with an intimate first kiss where Austin embraced Michelle and finally could call her his wife.
Michelle & Austin made their grand entrance into the barn on the property at Willow Creek. Huge smiles, cowboy boots, and country music filled the room as guests at delicious food made by family, danced the night away, and celebrated with friends,
A few key highlights from the reception include: Michelle & Austin’s epic cake smash moments, their romantic first dance together, the fight for the bouquet, and the run from the garter.
You could tell that Michelle was nervous as they began cutting the cake. Both her and Austin were giggling with delight as they quickly shoved it into each others’ face. It turned into a complete mess, but a memorable mess full of toothy grins, belly laughs, and ornery endearment for one another. After getting cleaned up they danced and spoke privately on the dance floor for the first time as husband and wife. Then, Michelle took her turn throwing the bouquet to the next lucky bride (as the saying goes). There was a bit of a friendly tussle over the flowers, but finally the winning single lady took her prize. Lastly, it was Austin’s turn with the garter—he took his jacket and vest off just in time for this one as he crawled on the floor to get under Michelle’s hem. When Austin came up to toss the garter, all of the single men ran away terrified of what getting it might mean.
If one thing is for sure, Michelle & Austin’s first day as husband and wife was met with loads of laughter, hugs from plenty of family, and tons of celebrations with friends.
