A rescheduled wedding at the most perfect venue, Mustard Seed Gardens in Noblesville, Indiana followed by a reception with their closest friends and family, and then wrapping the night with stunning sunset moments as husband and wife—this was Abby & Ben’s special day.
Even though COVID-19 has disrupted lots of plans, events, and gatherings, this couple stayed hopeful and optimistic through trying times. They may have planned a larger wedding, at a different venue, on a different date, but rescheduling and planning their wedding twice was not going to stop them from getting married! Abby’s dad, Paul, spoke about this during his reception welcome speech and prayer—how “nothing could have prepared him for this day.” Things changed, plans were rescheduled, but in the end, love was all that mattered, and there was no doubt you could witness the love exuding from Abby & Ben during their wedding day.
Abby & Ben met at Purdue University! They both had the same internship and were set up on a date for Abby’s Sorority formal. Their love was strong and quick, and soon after, Ben was ready to propose. Ben planned a surprise date for Abby, after her friend had “shortened” her trip to Purdue (as a part of the plan to make Abby free). They dressed up nice, and Ben recreated a few of their first dates.
They started with lunch at Chick-fil-a where they sat in the same spot as their first date. Next, they listened to Young the Giant on their way to the next destination and reminisced on some of their very first memories. They pulled up to a park where they had previously had a picnic (with Chick-fil-a, of course) on one of their other first dates.
After all of this reminiscing, Ben had another surprise. He told Abby to take a wine bottle out of a paper bag, and the wine was called “Diamond”. Then he got down on one knee and proposed!!! Of course, Abby said YES!!! And because family and friends are so important to Abby & Ben, later that night Ben threw a surprise party at his apartment with all of their best friends (including the one who “shortened” her trip).
One of the best parts of this day were all of the heartfelt messages and sweet words shared between family and friends. Being an intimate rescheduled wedding, everyone in attendance was special to Abby & Ben in a way in which they shared a close bond. Ben’s father was the officiant and shared messages from all family members during the ceremony, Abby’s sister was the maid-of-honor and gave a funny and tear-jerking speech, Ben’s two best friends spoke the kindest words at the reception, and Abby’s father shared funny moments, a special first look, and of course one of the best father-daughter dances seen to date.
While all of these moments and speeches were not included in Abby & Ben’s highlight video, one of the best parts of our packages is that they all include ALL of the RAW footage. The means, that even though you may not be watching these speeches in the video today, Abby & Ben have access to the full speeches and all of the footage from their day. However, at any time they can choose to have us edit a portion or a larger scale video of their day! It’s truly the best option out there.
A few days before their wedding Abby reached out to me to let us know that they were going to be doing a Father Daughter Dance mashup-style. She told me that this was going to be a major surprise to everyone (even her groom, Ben), and that it was important for us to capture the entire thing with video!
So, at the reception, Abby began dancing with her dad to Butterfly Kisses, but a minute or so after slow dancing an air horn blew and the fun dancing started. It was so fun to see the bridal party, family and friends, and even Ben react in shock as Abby and her dad started busting out in popular moves and Tik Tok dances.
Abby & Ben, I am so thankful that you allowed me to be a part of and capture your wedding day with video. We are so grateful that Katie was able to direct you to us and we were able to book this last minute wedding—it was truly amazing and a perfect wedding. I loved being your videographer.
